The 4K4Community Fun Run is a 4 km (2.49 mi) running and walking event that raises funds for local nonprofits and is unique in that 100% of your registration fee is tax-deductible! The 2025 beneficiaries are...
Birch Community Services, Forest Park Conservancy, Path Home, and POIC!

This year, the run starts and ends at Salmon Street Springs downtown on the waterfront. After finishing, you'll head a few blocks up to the Migration Brewing PacWest patio pop up (minors welcome!) for the afterparty! Celebrate with free drinks and snacks, music and mingling, and learn about the work being done by these nonprofits to better our community. Participants who register by September 18 will also receive a commemorative event t-shirt.

Whether you’re running the distance, walking with a group, or cheering at the finish line, come together with your community to get active and give back.

Event information

Location

The 2025 4K4Community takes place at Salmon Street Springs (map).

The running/walking course will take participants north along the waterfront, crossing the Steel Bridge before heading south along the Eastbank Esplanade, finally returning over the Hawthorne Bridge.
Parking
Street parking and parking garages are available near the location of the event.
Transit
This location is near the heart of the Portland area transit system. TriMet light rail stations are located a few short blocks away and convenient bus routes pass through the immediate area. Explore schedules and maps for TriMet or Portland Streetcar.

T-shirts

Register before end-of-day on September 18th to receive a free event t-shirt, which can be snagged at the event.

Bib pickup

Race bib and t-shirt pickup starts at 3:00 PM. Please give yourself ample time for parking and lines.

Afterparty

After crossing the finish line, participants are invited to refuel and celebrate with complimentary drinks, snacks, and more at the new Migration Brewing PacWest Patio Pop-Up (minors welcome!). Located at 1211 SW 5th Ave, you will enter on the west side of the building (6th Ave). Participants will receive a complimentary drink voucher on their race bib. Must be 21 and older and have a valid photo ID for alcoholic beverages.

The afterparty will also feature music, celebrating event honorees, and raffling off fun prizes.

Event registration is hosted on Field Day, where you can create a Team and sign up together.

Tax-deductible receipt

When you register for the 4K4Community on Field Day, you will be prompted to complete your payment via Stripe. Your $35 registration donation is 100% tax-deductible via the Field Day Community Fund: 501(c)(3) EIN 99-1262464, before it is wholly disbursed to our nonprofit beneficiaries.
